Dr. Naveen Arya specializes in gastroenterology. A graduate of the University of Toronto (B. Sc, Human Biology), Dr. Arya completed his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario (UWO). After graduating from UWO, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at University Hospital in London, Ontario, where he was Chief Medical Resident in 2001. He received further training in Gastroenterology at the University of Toronto after which he completed two fellowships – one in Therapeutic Endoscopy (advanced endoscopic training) at St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, the other in Endoscopic Ultrasound in Marseille, France. He subsequently has a special interest in endoscopic ultrasound and advance therapeutic endoscopy.

He is a co director at Oakville Endoscopy Centre. Dr. Arya is an active researcher and is a Principal Investigator for multiple global Phase II, III and IV clinical trials in IBD in association with the Toronto Immune and Digestive Health Institute. He is also involved in the therapeutic Endoscopy Research. He has been speaker at national and international courses and educational events. He is active in publishing peer reviewed papers. Dr. Arya with his colleagues have started advanced EUS and ERCP fellowships. 

Over the past 8 years, Dr. Arya has immersed himself in global health initiatives, focusing primarily on South America. Through this unwavering commitment, he has tackled regional health challenges, collaborated with local communities, and implemented sustainable interventions to improve healthcare access and outcomes in the region.
